I happened to glance down at my hand today and thought to myself, "those rings really are quite beautiful".  Despite the fact they need to be cleaned, they still sparkle!  You almost can't tell in this picture that I have fingers the size of a 5 year old!

Zoey

My cat Zoey is not the most well adjusted animal you will ever meet.  She actually doesn't like anyone or anything except me.  I caught her just waking up from a nap and thought I would snap a photo of her - it's a perfect "Zoey" picture of looking sleepy and grumpy.  She actually looks like you might want to pet her!

The Bag Lady

If you have met me then you know how I feel about bags.  The feel of the smooshy leather, the smell, the beautiful colours and textures, the history of the designs/designers....I love everything about bags.  I started my collection about 6 or 7 years ago with a Louis Vuitton Monogram Manhattan GM and have never looked back. Some of my friends affectionately deemed me "The Bag Lady" (a nickname I have come to embrace over time).

So today I picked up a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag that I have had my eyes on for the last couple of months - it was the 20% off that put me over the edge.  I was debating about whether or not to post pictures of the bag in it's full glory but decided to just post pictures of the front hardware.  You can use your imagination for the rest!!

I don't know what it is about grass but I just love everything about it.  The way it smells, the way it feels on my bare feet, the rich green colour....

I am not good at keeping plants alive.  I don't know what it is about them but no matter what I do - they die on me.  Too much water, too little water, too much sun, too little sun...you know how it goes.  My husband says my problem stems (hehe) from too little water as in, "watering plants once every 6 weeks is too little water".  Who knew plants were such sensitive, needy little things?!

Anyway, I am delighted to say that I have managed to keep an Orchid alive for about 12 weeks now.  This is a true accomplishment for me so I thought I would brag a little!

My husband is a cigar smoker.  I have never smoked a cigar in my life, despite the many times he has offered me a puff.  This doesn't mean I can't photograph them though!

I guess it's become obvious that I like taking pictures of things close up.  You should see my collection of "close up things" - my cat, my toes, pop cans, my grandmother's lasagna....

The Hunger Games

If you haven't started reading "The Hunger Games" you need to!  I had very low expectations for the book considering the target audience is girls 12-17...but boy was I surprised!  I just finished the second book of the series (there are 3 in total) this morning and am dying to start the last book. 

Definitely a book to add to a summer reading list!!

Skinny Love

Recently I decided to learn how to play Birdy's version of "Skinny Love" on the piano.  It's one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard - hard to believe that the girl singing it is a mere 14 years old.  I don't have a piano teacher and I'm a little rusty with my music reading so I sit with my laptop beside me, sheet music in front of me and listen to the song on repeat until I am able to imitate it.

Not the easiest way to learn a song on the piano - but I am slowly figuring it out!

The Cemetery

 Today my cousin and I took a visit to a local cemetery to take some photos. I have never really spent much time in a cemetery but I found it to be quite a beautiful place to take pictures.
